I got Vivien Leigh, a rescue angel, from Operation Paws for Homes in Virginia 1/18/14. She's a German Shepherd mix, with a guesstimate birth date on 1/3/09. If you want to get inside the head of a dog, read on and click on the photos to enlarge them.

How I decide where to sleep
My human has pondered for quite some time how I decide among my four beds where to sleep? So, I'll explain by starting at the upper left and proceeding clockwise.
The white rectangle: This bed is perfectly positioned for maximum human watching. I can see him in the living room, bathroom, dining room, at his desk, in the hallway, and most importantly in the kitchen from where all eats come from.
My bed/blanky combo: I retire to the bedroom when I want complete quiet and privacy. I particularly enjoy this bed after dinner. In addition, it has the advantage of being completely reworkable into an infinite variety of positions.
The chair: My bed of choice for overnight sleeping and TV watching. The arm rests provide the added support for leaning that my other beds lack. I change directions depending on which position provides the best view of my human.
The round bed: This one is best for curling up into the fetal position and therefore provides the most emotional security in the quiet of the bedroom. When I'm rounding I can clear my human from my mind. It's my zen spot!
